All Church : Week of July 3rd

The Church Office will be closed tomorrow, July 4, Independence Day.

Malawi Mission Trip – please pray for the 12 missionary people traveling to Malawi and spending time there. They will be returning on July 14.

Three Bells, next, Sun, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. (Every second Sunday of the month). All are welcome to participate. We bring a worship service to the people living there, 1185 Acacia St., Montara. Call Michelle with questions.

Senior Brown Bag meets at Oceanside Community Room in the new facility just across the way from where we’ve been serving. Help distribute food on Mondays at 12:15 p.m. Call Don Carruth for more information and directions. No meeting tomorrow, July 4.

Food Drive for Coastside Hope: barrels are in the entry to the Social Hall and to the Sanctuary. The need for July and August is canned corn and peas.

Youth & Family : Week of July 3rd

Middle School and High School Sunday School There will be no middle and high school Sunday School classes this summer. Class will resume in the fall.

Revival in the Redwoods July 26-30, 2016. Registration forms are available upstairs by the elevator, due by July 20.

Congregational Life : Week of July 3rd

Flutes by the Sea, now in its 4th season, proudly presents evening concerts open to the public July 7, 8, 9, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church, 777 Miramontes Street in downtown Half Moon Bay.  This event brings flutists from 7 to 70+ who gather to share their love of the flute. This year Flutes by the Sea features from France former Principal Flute of the LA Philharmonic, Julien Beaudiment; from Australia, Jane Rutter, International Soloist, Andrea “Fluterscooter” Fisher and Half Moon Bay based, Chilean born, GRAMMY Nominated, Viviana Guzman.  Also participating will be Magic Flutes (Pamela Ravenelle), Bel Canto Flutes (Gail Edwards) PYO Flute Choir (Viviana Guzman), Avant Flute Choir & The Orioles (Gala Yaroshevsky) cumulatively  totaling the participation of over 100 flutists. Mary Kay Jolley’s Art Class next, Sun. July 10, 1:00 p.m. Social Hall. If you have your own supplies, the class is free. If you don’t have your own supplies, Mary Kay has everything you need and the cost is $10.

Men’s Breakfast Sat. July 16, 8:00 a.m. Social Hall. All men are invited to just come and eat!

Hiking Group, Saturday July 16 on the Cowell Purisima Trail for a walk along the southern bluffs of Half Moon Bay just past Canada Cove. We will walk about 4 miles total including walking down the 30 steps to the beach for a romp. We will stay on the wide and safe wheelchair accessible path. Families are welcome. Minors bring an adult with you. No dogs allowed at this park. Restrooms are at the parking lot. The beach steps and viewing area are 1/2 mile from the parking lot. Meet in front of the chapel at 8:30 a.m. to carpool. We will eat lunch at a local restaurant at about 11:30, then return to CUMC about 12:30.

Malama volunteers are available to help with short-term and occasional needs of our church family. If you or someone you know needs meals for several days, please call Irene Robertson. If you need help with errands, chores, a ride, or a visit, call Emily Glines. For handyman assistance call Paul McReynolds.
